Reflections on Montisi and the Y2Knit Experience Tuscany

I have the coolest job. I get to meet wonderful women (some men), mostly knitters, and have fabulous experiences.

I loved getting to know everyone and learning more about them. I believe everyone has interesting stories to share and I thank those who shared theirs in some way with us. What richness we hold!

Thanks to Fae for a great blog posting that nicely summarizes week 2. I'll send communication soon about picture sharing online for those who want to participate and share. I thank you in advance as I took no camera or pictures.

Personally, I loved Montisi and the lifestyle. I never felt bored or craving of more activity. I especially enjoyed getting to participate in the two community dinners, the daily walks to the bakery and grocery store, and checking in to see who was at the Barino (and now I wish I had done much more of the latter). I think what I take away most from the weeks in Montisi are a wealth of person(s) and place. I met such wonderful people, both Y2Knit participants and people living in or visiting Montisi. Slowing down enabled me to enjoy the people more. I participated in leisurely conversations (more towards the end, and I could feel it happening, which was an interesting experience in itself). I had a sense of place in that I connected with how a place impacts my experience.

In response to Georgia's comments about country and city, I reflected on spending time in Montisi and a few days in Rome. I liked both. Montisi/country allowed me to connect with people. Rome/city allowed me anonymity.

Thank you all for making the Y2Knit Experience Tuscany unique!
