Sometimes something seems so easy--and then it just gets more and more difficult. I am not talking about the knitting on this--I'm talking about getting the damn photos up! I thought I was smart to type my blog and copy the text here. Not a good plan. Here I am, retyping it because it won't copy.
Susan is posting the pattern for the second section of the Cannioterra, Farfalle Knot. I have posted a Bit of Italy picture, and hopefully you will get one of the FK here too.
I thought both of these were fabulous to work and the results are so wonderful! I would like to make a couple of suggestions for successfully completing each:
Bit of Italy:
If you are changing colors for the petals, try not to pull the yarn too tightly across the back. Also, I wove the MC in across the back while knitting the CC--just a stitch or two--to keep the back tidy. The pattern goes pretty swimmingly until you get to the border. Then it becomes easy to get off count and there is really no choice but to tink backwards to correct it. There just isn't a way to fudge it. Work those border rows when you are fresh! Personally, I couldn't stop admiring this piece as I was making it!
Farfalle (Butterfly) Knot:
I think I've gotten all the knots out of this one! I found this cable a little challenging to follow, but I think I have ironed out the knots for all of you. Again, I wove the MC in as I worked the CC stitches. I would recommend working a sample piece just to sort it out and figure out whether you like the words or the chart. Please ignore the yarn ends in the photo. It became necessary to just move on, and my photography skills are weak.

I'm on Row 7 of the Farfalle Knot - it seems like there might be a problem with the pattern on the part of the 2/3RCP and 2/3LCP. The sides on either side of the center cable are not matching up like for instance on row 5. It seems like row 19 might have a problem too. Has anyone had a problem with this? Mary Jane
