Bit of Italy and Farfalle Knot

My color choices were fairly random.  I am sure I started Bit of Italy thinking that the inside of my piece would be an accent color, but it ended up being the main color.  I love that green, so I'm totally happy with it.  I thought a little bit more about color placement when I started the Farfalle Knot, which will be below the Bit of Italy on my vest.  I decided to use the teal as my main color.  By this time I'd actually thought through the entire garment and had decided that I would try to put more teal (I know its called something else on the ball band) into the vest as it is a color I haven't been wearing much of, but that looks great on me.  As I've planned my vest, the side pieces (which may be the largest single pieces of the vest) are going to be teal.

I would recommend just making the Bit of Italy.  It will be on the back so you won't even have to look at it if you don't love the choices you make!  As you work the other pieces you can make color adjustments.  I'll get a schematic of the entire back out this week so those of you who aren't comfortable without a plan can work it out on paper before you start knitting.

I will admit that I've taken pieces out and reknit them to fit what is now a formal plan of how the colors will relate to each other on the back.  I would say that the colors in the Farfalle Knot are much truer than those in the Bit of Italy pictures.

Oh, and if you have knitting questions on the Cannioterra, please send them to me, not Susan (who is working them for the first time).  I had a question from Susan Ross (who doesn't post here, but always asks excellent questions--and has lots of knitting time--about the (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) on Inc Rnd 33 of the Border of Bit of Italy.  It is an increase, and those 5 stitches are all worked in a single stitch.
