Here's my Bit of Italy. I can't believe I made this! Even my friends at work thought is was beautiful - the pattern and my knitting.
It was intimidating at first because I have never done color work before and I certainly never worked a square in the round :) I took Susan's suggestion of using the color that is least compatible with my skin tone and made that the MC. This way it will be surrounded by the teal as I continue to work the vest.
Brava! And now I am ready for a glass of wine!

It's beautiful. I love this kind of knitting--it feels very organic to me, creating a piece in the same way nature does--from the inside out.
Toni - Your BOI really looks pretty. I love the colors. I'm thinking of doing my daughter a vest in that colorwave. Have you started the Knot? I just found several errors in the pattern and the chart and just stopped on row 11. The chart and the written pattern don't match. I found the BOI pattern perfect and really didn't have a problem, but this knot pattern just seems to have some mistakes. Let me know what you think. Also I started the Tuscan square and by casting on 49 stitches, it's much wider that any of the other squares...so I'm happily knitting a felted purse and crocheting a baby blanket. I think I'll wait until Susan and Jill come back.
