Length of Garlic and Vines?

I am almost finished with my leftside garlic and vines; however, I wasn't sure how many rows to actually knit. Right now I have finished 79 + 1 more. I purled back across after finishing row 79 not thinking about binding off. If I don't stretch the piece during blocking then I probably need to do 2-3 more rows to match the BOI. If I stretch it a bit then I am OK. To keep that cable braid firm should I just do the extra rows and not stretch?
Thanks!

Toni,
You can do the extra rows now, or block and decide; it is always possible to add if you don't bind off. I left mine, but left some extra yarn attached so I can add to it (or use it for seaming) should I decide to later on. It needs to be the same length as the side of your BOI.

Toni, I'll be starting on my Garlic and Vines this afternoon. I'm almost done with repeat 5 of the Knot. Is there anything I need to know on any changes in the rows? I know about the P2 thing from another blog. I just need some smooth sailing after the Knot.
I'm leaving for Maine on Saturday for 10 days and want to be able to work on the Garlic and Vines while riding on the train. Thanks for any help,
Mary Jane

Have fun in Maine Mary Jane! Eat lots of lobster for me. For the garlic and vines I mostly followed the chart for the left panel (haven't done the right yet) and didn't have any problems. Since you know that the symbol should mean purl to the back I can't think of any other issues. The braid alternates RC and LC on knit rows only which the chart shows. Maybe I will work on my knot this weekend. toni
