I'm posting this picture of the next piece of the Cannioterra for those of you wanting to stay on top of this knitting. Hopefully the pattern will be posted before I leave for Turkey--look for it on the 4th or the 5th as I clear my desk.
This is the left piece--and there are directions for a right piece as well--these will go on either side of the Bit of Italy. The braid goes next to the BOI and the slanted edge will form the armhole.
The color of this piece is my teal--I took the photo on a black table which seemed to suck all the color out!

OK - regarding the "Bit of Italy" ... I have a few questions ... why do the two posted pictures of the "Bit of Italy" look so different (in terms of density). Also ... my knitting so far looks like a wee bowl ... is that supposed to happen??? I am assuming that it will flatten out as I finish the piece (Say it is so!)
Happy 4th of July!
If you look at Mary Jane's square and my square you will see that they are very similar in look (not color obviously) and density. After blocking, the yarn becomes very soft and drapey as Jill suggested in an earlier post. It feels and looks very different than when it is on the needles. Also my square looked very much like a bowl or hat until I started working the corners. I was very worried how 3 dimensional the inner rows of purls looked compared to the rest of the piece. Blocking took care of all of those concerns and YES! it will flatten out.
