Traveling to Italy
Dorothy and I will be booking our airline tickets this week for the week of September 27 to October 4. We are planning to arrive in Rome on Tuesday , September 23 and spend 4 days sightseeing in and around Rome before taking the train to Montisi on the 27th. We had enough miles with United to book business class from SFO to Dulles and then Dulles directly to Rome. I just finished a wonderful novel by Martha McPhee called "L'America", a beautiful love story between a young Italian man and an American girl that spans several years. Not only is it a beautifully written, lovely story but highly descriptive of many lovely places throughout Italy, and since the main character is a chef, the food description are luscious as well. Too bad we won't all be there the same week! It would be great to see you again.
Thanks for the book recommendation. I checked an my library has it, so I'll check it out when I go on the weekend.
I think you'll be glad for the time in Rome. You'll be rested by the time you get to Montisi.
