Left Back Roots and Branches

I'm ready to start my roots and branches. I had everything ready to go and then I can't figure out the cross through stitch. I've read the technique but still can't get it. I know some of you have done it. Please send me a more descriptive explanation.
thanks,
Mary Jane

Mary Jane ... I had the same problem ... and I had to drive up to Sonoma so my friend Susan could clear up the confusion ... the key is to keep the yarn in the back when you stick your needle through the first stitch ... grab the second stitch and knit it and pull it off ... then knit the first stitch. I kept "slipping as to purl" with the yarn in front and it totally screwed up the stitch. So ... slip as to purl but keep the yarn in back.
Hope this helps.

dotinca, thanks so much. I felt so bad not getting it but did finally figure it out about 5 minutes after posting my call for help. I have been waiting for the perfect moment to start it...and today was the day. I did my first 5 stitches and then I was stuck!! I'm glad you got it too. How far are you on yours? Also, what week are you going? I'm going the 2nd and 3rd weeks.
