I'm back from Maine. Well, more of me is back from Maine. I ate lots of lobster and lots of blueberry pie. I'm beginning to wonder if my tee will fit!!! After returning I started on my tee and I'm on row 33 now. I'm more or less following Phyllis's decrease rounds as ours are very similar. It is very enjoyable knitting to me as I really needed a break from the lf twist, right twist, cos's etc. It's going much faster than I thought it would, but with those lace needles and the beautiful yarn, I'm having fun knitting it. Sometimes just the simple knit stitch can create such beautiful things and really relax us. I have finished both parts of the garlic and vines. I found the right one harder to do than the left. I had planned to finish it on the train - but needing quiet and lots of concentration - when my husband said, can we just talk? - I decided to put it down and work on it at home. In the Fall issue of Vogue Knitting, the cover has a mitten. Look closely and you will see our braid on our garlic and vines pieces.
Sometimes we can't see the big picture, but I believe Jill has created all of our bits and pieces of knitting to have some challenging, some very challenging, and some easy. So when we get frustrated we need to go to one of the easier ones. We are not getting behind, we are just knitting a piece of the whole.
Thanks Jill and Susan,
Mary Jane
