Cannioterra Fronts: Part A!

Because many seemed a bit overwhelmed by the pieces I used to make up the back I have been working on redesigning the front.  Always easier said than done, especially when I have to make a real mental shift.  I've mostly redone it and you will get a flurry of new parts in the next few days.   Sadly this has put me, and you, behind.  If you are worried about getting everything done before you leave, don't sweat it.  If you have to make a choice about knitting time, I'd suggest doing pieces for one side of the front now, and the others can be tackled as you have time.  It won't be the end of the world or this project if you don't have everything done in Italy.

The first part of the front, Part A (Swirls and Garter), will be the lower part of the front.  It is pretty easy knitting.  Once you get a feel for how the increases and decreases fit, you can almost work it without the chart (not really, I tried it last night and had to get the chart to keep my purls straight).  There are no crossed stitches or cables though!

As soon as I get time (not until Sunday at least) I'll post a schematic of the front.  I loved Toni's description of how she chose colors.  If you don't feel as confident on the computer, try colored pencils or markers--it is always very theraputic to color something!  Personally, I've done my Swirls and Garter in my contrast colors.
