PAVONE

I am completely confused by the ES instructions and have ripped it out twice. I don't understand the reference to wrap the needle after you pull up the loop from the previous rows. Are we wrapping it around the right needle? Also, when the instructions say, K1, ES (4x), are we wrapping the needle around the same loop or pulling up another loop? Either way I do it, it does not match or look like the picture. It's also very time consuming and slow - I can't be doing it correctly. Help!

I think you are just misreading the instruction. It says to insert right needle into fabric between RT and LT (where marker is), wrap the ndl and pull up a loop. The wrap is making just like making a stitch--which is the loop which you pull up. Just pretend you are making a stitch, but since you are going in 4 rows below, it is going to create a long loop on the face of the fabric.

Thanks Jill. I'll try that. Because the instructions say (K1, ES) 4x, I'm assuming it had to be done 4x in the same loop.

It is done in the same space, if that's what you are referring to. k1, pick up loop and do a total of 4x in the same space. It's a very cool stitch!
