My Pavone is Looking Beautiful!!

Wow! what a beautiful textured piece. I'm a little over half way done - it's going slow but worth the effort. I ended up doing the original CTS we learned. I started thinking that our vest is like a sampler. Do you realize how many new stitches and techniques we have learned? Bravo to Jill!! What are most of you doing for the other side of the Pavone? Are you waiting for the other piece or making 2 Pavones?
Hope Susan and Jill arrived safely! Break's over, back to the knitting!

I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your Pavone! I'm on my second one. I guess if I prefer the more challenging piece I can always do it in Montisi. Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm about 1/2 way done with my Pavone too. As you said Mary Jane, it is slow going, but beautiful. Saw your earlier note about the CTS, I actually didn't look at the directions and just did it the way we were using it in other pieces. This morning I made one of the ribbed leaves. It looks really neat. Easy and fast compared to Pavone! I am going to wait and do the other pattern rather than repeat the Pavone. The BOI, the Farfalle Knot and the 2 Vines are finished. Then I have 1 Swirl, 1 Pillar, 1 Root, 1 Leaf and I'll have the Pavone. Maybe I can get the back and one side done in Italy. When I was blocking the pieces the other day, they really looked nice laid out together. Can't wait to have that glass of wine together at the villa! :)

Fae,
Ifinished my Pavone this morning. I think it's the prettiest of all the pieces. As for the bind off, I'm doing the size 2 and the pattern is fine. I wonder if you are counting the stitch that is left on the needle after you have bound off your correct number. You are to count that stitch as as stitch one of the pattern that starts after the bind off. If you don't count it, you will be off by one stitch. Do you know what I mean? I think I'm going to start on the other Pavone now as the pattern is so fresh in my mind. I think it will go faster. Mary Jane

Mary Jane, thanks for the hint. I looked at the pattern more closely and I now think it's ok, and I must have done something wrong. After I finish my second Pavone I'll see if I can figure out what I did.
